more about our merger

“With this merger, we are able to combine resources and provide patients the most comprehensive cosmetic care from board certified plastic surgeons and certified estheticians. We’re bringing the most advanced technology and most experienced providers into one premier cosmetic practice,” says Dr. Blake.

The new practice boasts two fully credentialed surgery centers and complete Medi-spas that feature aesthetic services, laser and light therapy, BOTOX Cosmetic, dermal fillers and more.

The size of the new group is one of the 25 largest Allergan BOTOX injectors in the country, and provides better pricing to patients and increased access for visits close to home. “We want to set the bar for the practice of cosmetic medicine in Milwaukee and make sure patients are seeing reputable and capable surgeons in modern and fully equipped facilities,” says Dr. Korkos.

Dr. Hussussian agrees, “Our merger allows both offices to provide their patients more convenience while maintaining the highest level of care and providing the best outcome possible. Our staff is dedicated to providing you with excellent care and friendly service in a confidential atmosphere. We pride ourselves on combining a professional consultation with realistic expectations of the changes that you would like to make to your appearance.

Our newest addition to Illume, our Franklin (formerly L’Image) office opened October 2022, offering a full medspa and clinic space for minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Certified Surgery Centers

Illume Cosmetic Surgery and Medspa features 3 nationally accredited surgery centers in Waukesha and Glendale, WI. We are the only cosmetic surgery practice in Wisconsin with two independent, in-house certified surgery centers. We also work with Board Certified Anesthesiologists from Anex Anesthesia for all general anesthesia cases.

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), the Accreditation on Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), and Medicare (CMS) all certify our centers according to rigorous national requirements on safety, emergency preparedness, staff credentials, and more. By obtaining and adhering to these standards, you can be assured you are having your procedure done at a surgical center that is qualified and capable.

Choosing A Plastic Surgeon

No matter what type of plastic surgery you’re considering, one of the most important factors in its success is the surgeon you choose. Although it may seem hard to believe, some of the physicians who are performing cosmetic surgery today have had no formal surgical training at all. It’s advisable to consider the following points before scheduling a consultation: Find out if the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) has certified him or her. Surgeons with this certification have completed a minimum of five years of surgical training following medical school, including a plastic surgery residency program. During this intensive program, surgeons learn to perform surgical procedures for the entire body and face. At the same time, they develop their technical skill and aesthetic judgment. After training, a surgeon must pass comprehensive oral and written exams before being granted certification. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, require their members to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Ask about the surgeon’s hospital privileges Even if you are planning to have your surgery in your doctor’s office or at a surgery center, it is important to find out if your surgeon has operating privileges in an accredited hospital for the same procedure you would like to have performed. Before granting privileges, hospital review committees evaluate a surgeon’s training and competency for specific procedures.
