At the Illume Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa our Board Certified Plastic Surgeons perform breast enhancement surgery for both women and men.
Breast surgery is typically performed in our private, certified cosmetic surgery centers. Our Board Certified Surgeons perform breast augmentation, reduction, lifts and reconstruction surgery to restore one or both of the breasts to their normal shape, appearance, symmetry and size following mastectomy, lumpectomy or other deformities.
Breast augmentation or enhancement is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breast. It is for any woman who feels her breast size is too small, has lost breast volume after pregnancy, or to correct a difference in size.
Breast reduction is for women with large, pendulous breasts who may experience a variety of medical problems caused by the excessive weight; from back and neck pain, skin irritation to skeletal deformities, breathing problems and furrows in their shoulders from bra straps. The goal is to give the woman smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.
Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts-at least, for a time. (No surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity) Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple.
(Male Breast Reduction) Gynecomastia affects an estimated 40 to 60 percent of men. It may affect only one breast or both. For men who feel self-conscious about their appearance, breast reduction surgery can help.
Breast reconstruction generally falls into two categories: implant-based reconstruction or flap reconstruction. Implant reconstruction relies on breast implants to help form a new breast mound. Flap (or autologous) reconstruction uses the patient’s own tissue from another part of the body to form a new breast.
