Illume Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa is pleased to welcome Dr. Lynn A. Bourn to our team of plastic surgeons.
Dr. Bourn brings a unique combination of nursing experience, extensive plastic and reconstructive surgery training, and a thoughtful approach to patient care. Her goal is to help patients feel confident and supported while making decisions that are right for them.
Meet Dr. Lynn Bourn
Dr. Bourn is a board-eligible plastic surgeon whose healthcare career began well before medical school. A Louisiana native, she first worked at the bedside as a registered nurse, giving her early experience caring directly for patients and understanding the importance of communication throughout the healthcare experience.
She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University before earning her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She then completed a six-year integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Saint Louis University.
Following residency, Dr. Bourn pursued specialized fellowship training in Gender Affirming Surgery at Vanderbilt University. Her training incorporates principles from reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery while emphasizing individualized care and attention to each patient’s goals.

She believes patients should be active participants in decisions about their care. Her approach emphasizes patient safety, informed shared decision-making, authenticity, and attention to detail.

Dr. Bourn also brings the perspective of someone who has cared for patients at multiple stages of the healthcare journey. Her background as both a registered nurse and plastic surgeon contributes to an approach that considers not only the technical aspects of surgery, but also the importance of helping patients feel informed and comfortable throughout the process.
