There’s a lot of exciting things happening at Illume Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa, and we are excited to share two important updates as we continue growing throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
We are pleased to welcome Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Michael Sweet to the Illume team. We are also preparing to open our sixth location in Kenosha, bringing Illume’s approach to personalized cosmetic and aesthetic care to another community in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Meet Dr. Michael Sweet
Dr. Michael Sweet is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with more than 25 years of experience providing cosmetic, reconstructive, and aesthetic procedures.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Sweet completed both his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He went on to complete his General Surgery Residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics and his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He served as Chief Resident during both programs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sweet has remained focused on providing care that starts with understanding the individual patient. Rather than approaching plastic surgery with a one-size-fits-all mindset, he believes in listening closely to each patient’s concerns, expectations, and aesthetic goals before developing a personalized treatment plan.
That philosophy fits naturally with Illume’s commitment to comprehensive, individualized care and results that help patients feel confident in themselves.
Experience Across Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery
Dr. Sweet provides a full range of cosmetic, reconstructive, and aesthetic procedures. His extensive background allows him to work with patients who come to Illume with a wide variety of goals, whether they are considering cosmetic surgery for the first time or exploring reconstructive options.
He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Sweet has also been recognized as a Milwaukee Magazine Top Doctor multiple times, including in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024, and was named a 2025 Top Cosmetic Surgeon by the Shepherd Express.
Most importantly, his approach centers on working together with patients to understand what they hope to achieve and determining the treatment options that make sense for them.
Illume Is Coming to Kenosha
Along with welcoming Dr. Sweet, we are excited to continue expanding Illume’s presence in Southeastern Wisconsin with a new location in Kenosha.
The Kenosha office will become Illume’s sixth area location, joining our existing locations in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Franklin, Menomonee Falls, and Mukwonago.
As a locally owned and operated cosmetic surgery and medspa practice, continued growth allows us to make experienced aesthetic care more convenient for patients throughout the region. Our Kenosha location will bring Illume closer to patients in Kenosha County and surrounding communities who are looking for personalized care from an experienced team.
The Kenosha location is expected to open this fall, with additional information about the office, services, providers, and scheduling coming soon.

Since Illume was formed in 2019 through the merger of two longstanding local practices, our goal has remained the same: provide comprehensive care, exceptional service, and personalized treatment options that help our patients feel confident in their decisions and their results.
Adding an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon like Dr. Sweet and expanding into Kenosha are both part of that continued commitment.
