We are pleased to welcome Dr. Thomas Kinney, MD, to Illume Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa. Dr. Kinney is a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, and he joins our team to expand the advanced surgical care we can offer our patients.
Meet Dr. Thomas Kinney
Training and Background
Dr. Kinney completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan Technological University before attending medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then completed his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he also served as chief resident.
After residency, he pursued additional subspecialty training with a fellowship in Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of several professional societies, including regional and national plastic surgery organizations.
Reconstructive Expertise
A significant part of Dr. Kinney’s practice focuses on reconstructive surgery. His areas of expertise include:
- Microsurgical reconstruction
- Breast reconstruction after mastectomy or lumpectomy
- Head and neck reconstruction for cancer, trauma, or complex wounds
This level of training in microsurgery allows us to offer more advanced reconstructive options to patients who need them, particularly those recovering from cancer treatment or serious injury.
Cosmetic Procedures
In addition to his reconstructive work, Dr. Kinney provides a wide range of cosmetic procedures for the face, breasts, and body. These include:
- Breast augmentation, breast lift, and breast reduction
- Body contouring procedures such as tummy tuck, liposuction, arm and thigh lifts, and combination “mommy makeover” surgery
- Facial procedures including facelift, eyelid surgery, brow and forehead lift, nose surgery, and ear surgery
This combination of reconstructive and cosmetic experience allows him to address both function and aesthetics, whether a patient is restoring what was lost or making a change they have been considering for some time.
